Whoopi Goldbergis revealing how she spread her mother's ashes at Disneyland.

During a July 10 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyerson Wednesday, July 10, Goldberg, 68, candidly described how she honored her late mother, Emma Harris, at the theme park following her death on Aug. 29, 2010.

The Viewhost prefaced her story by saying, "No one should do this," which caused the crowd to laugh and Goldberg then emphasized, "Don't do it."

"My mother loved Disneyland, and so we took her to Disneyland," she explained. "And when I was a kid, the World's Fair was here, and it was the introduction of Small World, and she loved Small World."

In order to spread her mother's ashes, Goldberg said she would "scoop some of her up" and pretend she had a cold by faking a big sneeze.

The television personality confessed that she used the same method to spread the ashes near the "flowers where it says Disneyland."

Goldberg's actions didn't stay a secret for too long, as she shared with host Seth Meyers, "I told them I did it."

"I wanted to make sure, actually, that I hadn't done something that was dangerous 'cause it hadn't occurred to me. But there's a reason they don't want ashes just floatin' around," she said.

The talk show host — w -

ho was inducted as a Disney Legend in 2017 — shared during an episode ofThe View in December that she and her brother grew up always wanting to go to Disneyland, but her mother could never afford tickets.

"I took her," recalled Goldberg. "The first time I went was in the early '80s, but my mother had always said, 'I'm going to take you and Clyde' — that’s my brother — 'I'm gonna take you to Disneyland,' and she never could afford to do it."

In a May conversation with PEOPLE, Goldberg opened up about how her mother always taught her to “comport” herself with adults from a young age.

“If I needed information, I was to ask somebody, explain why I was asking, and do all the things that I would do with her when she was not there," she said. "Because she would say sometimes, parents do this to kids, they say it all the time. Who knows how long I'm going to be here?' It's like, 'What do you mean? Where are you going?' ”

As Goldberg noted, spreading ashes at a Disneyland or Walt Disney World attraction is a bad idea. In 2007, a Disneyland official told The Los Angeles Times that the answer is "always" no, even when families seek permission.
