Sister Wives’ Savanah Brown Says Brother Garrison 'Is No Longer in Pain' in Tribute

Savanah reminded her followers to never underestimate "how big of a hole" their loss would leave

Sister Wives’ Savanah Brown is remembering her brother Garrison Brown.

“Two weeks ago, on Tuesday March 5, my older brother Garrison took his own life,” she began in her first social media post since his death. 

“I’m having a hard time understanding it. But I know now, more than anything, that my brother Garrison is no longer in any more pain,” Savannah continued in a heartfelt Instagram tribute on Monday. 

In the post, she shared several photos of her late brother — the first one was a childhood picture of him sitting in a chair, with a big smile as he held her when she was a newborn. 

“Every time I see a car that looks like his on the road, I briefly wonder if it’s him on his way home from work before I am reminded that he is gone,” Savanah continued. 

She said that she also thinks of her sibling when she makes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, as well as when she looks up at the sky at night. 

Next, she shared a plea to others who may have the same type of thoughts that her older brother had. 

“I deeply hope that anyone who may be reading this never underestimates how big of a hole their loss would leave," she wrote. "Persevere, for the sake of your family, for the sake of your friends, for the sake of the ones who love you.”

Savanah ended her post by leaving the phone number to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline for anyone who may need it.

ther, 22-year-old Gabriel, discovered the late 25-year-old on March 5, Lieutenant Charles M. Hernandez II of the Flagstaff Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE at the time.

His parents, Janelle, 54, and Kody Brown, also confirmed the news via social media, calling him “a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him.”

Garrison’s other biological siblings include Madison, Logan and Hunter. 

Last week, Maddie opened up about grief with a quote by Jamie Anderson, writing, "It’s all the love you want to give but cannot."

On Monday, Maddie shared another video with fans to emphasize the importance of mental health.

"Mental health is so important, and I don't think we talk about it enough," she said, in part. "And I don't think we do enough to bring awareness. It wasn't bullying. It wasn't a lack of love that Garrison had, it was mental health. And I am going to continue talking about mental health and self care until I am blue in the face."

Their family also includes Kody’s other former wives Meri, Christine and Robyn Brown, as well as their children.
