Could Shawnmila be making another comeback?

Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes were spotted together at the Copa América final between Argentina and Colombia on Sunday, July 14 in Miami. The on-off pair's outing sparked reconciliation rumors after fan-recorded footage captured the Fifth Harmony alum, 27, and “Mercy” singer, 25, sitting side-by-side chatting during the soccer match at Hard Rock Stadium.

However, "They were there coincidentally," a source tells PEOPLE. "She actually took her dad as her date."

Reps for Cabello and Mendes did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

The former couple began dating in 2019 before they split two years later. The "Señorita" duet partners briefly reunited in the spring of 2023 after they were seen hanging out and kissing at Coachella, but the reunion was short-lived as they seemingly went their separate ways that June.

Shortly after, a source told PEOPLE that Cabello was dating again, while another said Mendes was working through the split on his own.

"Shawn is still growing and discovering himself. He needs time to himself to do what makes him happy," the insider said at the time, adding that “the timing was wrong for Shawn and Camila."

Mendes and Cabello have known each other for more than a decade. They met in 2014 when they were tour buddies both opening up for Austin Mahone. In the years following, they repeatedly denied dating speculation amid the release of collaborations like "I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “Señorita.” But they took their relationship to the next level in 2019 and were linked romantically when PDA-filled photos surfaced that July. That fall, Mendes confirmed they had started dating “officially” on the Fourth of July.

During the course of their relationship, the musicians would drop more collaborations and even spark engagement rumors, but their romance fizzled out in November 2021 -

. In a joint statement shared on their Instagram Stories, the "Christmas Song" collaborators announced their breakup by writing, "Hey guys, we've decide to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as human is stronger than ever ❤️. We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends."

They concluded by saying, "We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward ❤️❤️❤️ Camila and Shawn.”

Cabello addressed the possibility of another reconciliation during a March episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, on which she shared that she finds it “helpful” to reach back out to former flames sometimes for clarity.

“I, personally, I think it’s known, I’m a fan,” said the “I Luv It” performer. “I’m kind of impulsive in that way, I would say. If I feel it, I say it, and I’m not really good at not doing that. Because the worst place for it to live is my mind, and then I’m like Ryan Gosling in The Notebook building a house for this person. I would rather say it and see what happens, and then wake up the next day and find out that it’s been heavily documented.”

Cabello then alluded to her 2023 reconciliation with Mendes, explaining, “I opted for that route. It is what it is. It was a great route, it was a fun time. It was a fun moment ... It took us both less time to be like, ‘This doesn’t feel right, and we don’t need to try so hard to make it work. It’s all good.’”

Cabello most recently released her fourth studio album, C,XOXO, on June 28. The LP features a track titled “June Gloom,” which fans believe Mendes inspired as it addresses an ex moving on with someone else. “If she's so amazing / Why are you on this side of town?” Cabello sings in the chorus. “If you like her so much / What are you here tryna find out?”
