Glen Powell is loving being a dog dad.

During the Twisters press tour, the actor's rescue dog Brisket has become the unofficial mascot of the movie, attending red carpets with the cast, sitting in on interviews, covering magazines and quietly judging Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos' dance videos.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Powell revealed that he adopted Brisket from the Labelle Foundation while he was filming the standalone sequel to the 1996 classic Twister.

"I was going through a breakup at the time and was in the middle of Enid, Oklahoma, and I had always wanted a dog," Powell told EW. "It was something I thought about a lot, but it was somewhere in this coffee shop in Enid.... I don't even know how to describe it, I just had the desire to be a father."

He eventually came across Brisket's picture on a dog rescue site and did everything he could to adopt him. "I sent them a heartbreakingly depressing video of me explaining why I needed this dog," Powell recalled.

Powell officially introduced Brisket to the world in July 2023 and has been sharing loving snaps of him ever since (including posting thirst traps with him on social media).

Brisket was clearly in his element as he attended his very first premiere on July 11, 2024. In celebration of Powell's film Twisters, the dog joined Anthony Ramos, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Powell, and Lee Isaac Chung on the red carpet, giving Edgar-Jones a kiss on the face between photo ops.

Powell's introductory post for Brisket included a collection of photos of their time together, including one of him holding Brisket on set. "It’s a ruff world out there, so I thought it was about time I hire a proper bodyguard…" he captioned the post from July 2023.

In his first post of Brisket, the Anyone But You actor also included one adorable photo of Brisket from when he was a little puppy. In the snapshot, Powell can be seen holding Brisket on his chest while his furry pal looks up at him.

In Brisket's Instagram debut, Powell shared a throwback photo of him playing with his puppy as Brisket mimicked Powell with his own paws in the air.

While Powell has given many glimpses of Brisket on social media, Brisket has his own Instagram as well. With the username @hotbrisket, the puppy's page regularly showcases photos of him and Powell bonding, including this cute cuddly moment they shared.

While promoting Twisters at the Universal Studios Backlot, Powell and his costar Daisy Edgar-Jones shared a sweet moment with Brisket as the actress petted his ears and the trio posed for the camera.

Speaking with PEOPLE about the film, Edgar-Jones claimed summer 2024 was "a Glen Powell Summer" with his puppy Brisket adding "to the flavor of joy, and fun, and fluff."

Brisket stole the spotlight as he attended the Twisters premiere on his father's arm. Powell even dressed him up with a bowtie collar.

On Brisket's Instagram, Powell shared a photo of him and his dog playing on the floor, with Brisket appearing to flash the camera a tiny smile. "Puppy Love 🐶," Powell captioned the image.

Messy hair, don't care! In August 2023, Powell shared a collection of photos of him and Brisket lounging around the house, which he captioned "The Breakfast Club." In the photo, Powell went shirtless but Brisket stole the show.

Powell went full dog dad as he carried Brisket in a shoulder sling. Brisket seemed very comfortable enjoying his hammock nap in the sun.

Bow wow! The pup looked like a natural as he posed for the camera mid-golf cart ride along with his dad (once again shirtless). The post, shared on Brisket's Instagram, was simply captioned with a sun and dog emoji.

Powell leaned in to say hello to Brisket on the Twisters red carpet in Los Angeles. Brisket, meanwhile, was being shuttled around in (we assume) a stretch limo.

"Brisket is the only reason I'll ever post a thirst trap," Powell joked with Entertainment Tonight about the steamy set snap that was shared widely.
