REinvent Nabs ‘Hana Korea,’ Starring ‘Squid Game’s’ Kim Joo-ryung (EXCLUSIVE) 

Copenhagen-based REinvent Intenational Sales has picked up the Danish-Korean pic “Hana Korea,” headlining “The Squid Game”’s Kim Joo-ryung and Minha Kim of Apple TV+’s “Pachinko.”

Sharon Choi, “Parasite” director Bong Joon-ho’sinterpreter and close collaborator, has boarded the project as co-writer. Produced by Sonntag Pictures’ Sara Stockmann (“Armadillo”, “Bobbi Jene”) with Seesaw Pictures’Heejung Oh(“Pearl of the Desert”), the hybrid project is due to start lensingin Korea this coming August.

Based on the true life of a young North Korean defector,the film will reconstruct her life, using fiction techniques and actorsto protect her identity.REinvent will kick off sales at the Cannes market.
