Rebel Wilson's directorial debut just booked its world premiere.

On Tuesday, July 16, the Toronto International Film Festival announced that The Deb, which Wilson, 44, directed, cowrote and stars in, will close the 2024 edition of the festival on Sunday, Sept. 15.

"Beyond grateful that THE DEB will be shared with audiences in Toronto this September!" Wilson wrote in an Instagram post shortly after the announcement on Tuesday. The actor and filmmaker shared five images from the upcoming film to social media in her post, showing a first glimpse at her upcoming musical.

"Thank you TIFF for the selection of a film so close to my heart, a film I’ve fought to make as a first time female director - to the cast and crew, and to my awesome fans, thank you for your continued love and support!" she added in her caption. "Let’s go to Toronto!!

The festival's announcement comes just days after two of the movie's producers, Amanda Ghost and Gregor Cameron, as well as executive producer Vince Holden, filed a defamation suit against Wilson in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. Their lawsuit came in response to a video Wilson shared on Instagram on Wednesday, July 10, in which she accused the group of "bad behavior" on set and alleged those producers attempted to block the film from premiering at TIFF in September.

The lawsuit alleged that the dispute between the film's producers and Wilson began after she expressed interest in wanting a co-writing credit and rights to the film's original music. The producers also said the movie grew "embroiled in numerous credit and licensing disputes instigated by Rebel," as they decided when to market it to fall festivals.

"Rebel’s goal in these several disputes was to get credit for work she did not do, and to overshadow young, upcoming artists who truly deserved the credit," the lawsuit claimed, according to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Wilson publicly responded to the lawsuit in an Instagram post she shared on Saturday, July 13, when she posted a photo of herself posing with much of the movie's crew on Instagram. "It’s not defamation if it’s the TRUTH," she wrote in part in a caption.

According to a festival release, Wilson's The Deb "is an original musical comedy about two teenage cousins who dig deep to find self-acceptance and a date to the Debutante Ball in a small country town in Australia." The movie is an adaptation of a musical of the same name that premiered in Sydney in 2022, as Variety reported in May 2023.

The Toronto Film Festival runs from Sept. 5 through Sept. 14.
