Rachel "Raquel" Leviss is back on the dating scene.

In a new episode of her podcast, Rachel Goes Rogue, the Vanderpump Rules alum, 29, spoke with Love Undercover's Renee Ash about what she is looking for in future relationships. After her months-long affair with former co-star Tom Sandoval was exposed last year, Leviss shared she is taking things slow when it comes to dating.

“I've taken a year off of dating to work on myself,” she revealed. “And now that I'm, you know, getting back out there and meeting new people – I met someone who I had awesome communication with, and he was very emotionally intelligent and emotionally regulated, and it just didn't work out.”

“I’ve kind of been seeing somebody else and it's been fun and a fling — he’s just so sweet, so kind, and it really does make a difference,” she added, seemingly referring to businessman Matthew Dunn, who the reality star confirmed she was dating in April.

Ash agreed, saying that it is “important” to notice the kindness in men even if it doesn’t feel comfortable due to past experiences.

“This sounds so silly, like a standard, stuff that you would just have as basic benchmarks for relationships,” Leviss shared. The pair added they both impressed by “emotionally regulated” men.

Leviss admitted that because she is used to being in “toxic” and “abusive” relationships, she has a hard time picturing a future with nice guys.

“It's hard for me to be with a sweet guy and think of it as a serious long term thing,” she explained. -

“Like, I don't see him as my husband.”

Relating to the podcast host’s feelings, Ash said that she is pushing herself to normalize receiving kindness from the men she dates instead of making excuses for bad behavior. Leviss noted that getting to know different types of men will help them understand what they truly want.

“I think we need to experience that sweetness and that other side of the spectrum in order to find a good balance,” she said.

Following Scandoval, Leviss checked herself into a mental health rehabilitation center in Arizona called The Meadows. After leaving treatment, she did not return to Vanderpump Rules and has spoken about prioritizing her mental health.

PEOPLE confirmed in April that Leviss moved on with Dunn one year after news of the affair broke.

“It's a little too soon to jump to any labels,” Leviss’ publicist told PEOPLE at the time. “They met a little over a month ago and are friends just getting to know each other. They met and are hanging out.”

“More of this, please,  🫶🏼🌵✨” she captioned the clip.
