Police Searching for 13 and 14-Year-Old Missing for Nearly a Month in Southern California

California authorities are continuing to search for two teens who disappeared over a month ago within a day of each other.

The State of California Department of Justice shared in a set of news releases that the Pomona Police Department was searching for two teenagers, Mileena Reessa Agustin and Jose Luis Sanchez, who were reported missing on Oct. 27 and Oct. 28, respectively.

Augustin is 13 years old and described as Asian with a height of 5’7", black hair and brown eyes. Police noted that she was last seen wearing a “dark colored hooded sweatshirt and dark colored basketball shorts with red and white stripes on side” and may be carrying a “camouflage tie-dye Victoria's Secret tote bag.”

As for Sanchez, 14, he is described as Hispanic with a height of 5’7" and black hair and black eyes. He was last seen in a “black hooded jacket, black pants and black shoes” and officers noted that he “wears glasses” and might be “carrying a duffle bag.”

The Pomona Police Department shared in an update on social media on Wednesday, Nov. 20 regarding the search for Augustin and Sanchez, writing, “Although their cases were reported separately, it is believed they are together.”

olice said they were spotted together in Pomona, Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley. However, it was unclear if the pair were still in the area.

The department did not release any other information on the circumstances leading up to their disappearance, but noted to KTLA that their family members did not have any contact with the teens since they were reported missing and that they were very concerned for their well-being.

In response to the department's social media post, several members of the California community commented that they shared the post and were “praying” the pair “are found safe.”

One person said they planned to stop by Huntington Beach and would “keep an eye out for them,” while another said, “hope they are found safe and reunited with their family.”
