Michael Schumacher is going to be a grandfather.
The former F1 star's daughter, Gina-Maria Schumacher, revealed that she is expecting a baby girl with her husband, Iain Bethke.
Gina-Marie, 25, announced the news on Instagram on Friday, Dec. 20, sharing a series of photos showing a baby horse alongside pink balloons, a small jean jacket and a pair of kid-sized cowboy boots. In one photo, a chalkboard next to the horse reads, “My new rider coming April 2025.”
She also included a photo of the horse sporting a pink headband with the words “Oh baby” captioned the post, “Impatiently awaiting the arrival of our little girl ???????? @iain1995.”
Michael, 55, sustained a brain injury in a skiing accident in 2013. Since then, his children — Gina-Maria and son Mick Schumacher — have opened up about his life in interviews and shared tributes to him over the years.
In January 2023, his daughter wished him a happy birthday on Instagram alongside a sweet throwback photo of herself and her dad wearing similar racing bomber jackets. She captioned the photo, "Happy Birthday Dad ???????????? throwback to our karting times! ????️ #keepfighting ❤️."
Mick, who followed in his father's footsteps by pursuing a career in racing, also shared an Instagram post to mark the occasion, writing, "Happy birthday to the best Dad ever ❤️ love you!"

The 23-year-old's post featured a photo of himself and Michael dressed up in black suits, as well as another snapshot of his dad in his racing uniform.
Michael is regarded as one of the best F1 drivers in history. According to F1, he earned 91 wins and seven championships and was honored with a Netflix documentary, released in 2021, which chronicles his life. Michael currently lives in Geneva, Switzerland, with his wife Corinna, whom he married in 1995.
In the documentary, Mick — who chose the race number 47 to signify Michael’s seven championships — opened up about his current relationship with his father. He described him as "my hero” and noted that he has “huge respect” for Michael.
"I have always had that," Mick said. "He just has this presence. When he walks into a room, everyone goes quiet. That's how I remember it."
"Every time I look at him, I tell myself, 'Yes that's how I want to be.' Such strength, such total peace of mind," Mick continued, adding, "I think Dad and me, we would understand each other now in a different way now. Simply because we speak a similar language, the language of motorsport. And that we would have so much more to talk about."
