Lady Gagais the first major surprise at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony.

The 38-year-old Grammy and Oscar winner delivered a dazzling performance of Zizi Jeanmaire's "Mon Truc en Plumes"during the Summer Olympics opening ceremony on July 26 alongside the Seine river —the first time the event has occurred outside a stadium.

Gaga's performance went down on a large staircase (inspired by the Grand Palais) with 10 dancers and 17 musicians, some of whom concealed her identity behind large feathers until she was fully revealed and began to sing. After an energetic dance routine, she retreated to a piano and played the instrument while delivering pristine vocals.

Gaga's performance came during the "Echanté" section of the event, split into different themes that pay tribute to French history and culture.

The "Bad Romance" performer's involvement in the event comes weeks after she completed her Jazz & Piano residency in Las Vegas.

Before she was spotted arriving in Paris on Monday, July 22, Gaga shared in a July 18 Instagram post that she's been spending time in the studio.

Following the news, a source told PEOPLE that the artist has "never been happier" about the music she's been recording.

"She’s feeling the most creative -

she’s ever been," the source added.

In addition to music, Gaga's gearing up to star as Harley Quinn, a.k.a. Lee, in the upcoming film Joker Folie à Deux alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role. The latest trailer for the movie, a sequel to 2019's Joker, was released on July 23.

The "Rain on Me" musician spoke to Empire in a new interview about the film and explained she needed to unlearn some of her "trained" singing skills in order to execute the role. "For me, there’s plenty of bum notes, actually, from Lee," she said.

"I’m a trained singer, right? So even my breathing was different when I sang as Lee. When I breathe to sing on stage, I have this very controlled way to make sure that I’m on pitch and it’s sustained at the right rhythm and amount of time, but Lee would never know how to do any of that," added Gaga. "So it’s like removing the technicality of the whole thing, removing my perceived art-form from it all and completely being inside of who she is."
