Kristin Cavallari is looking back on her past eating habits — and noting how much things have changed.

“I’m eating the most carbs I ever have,” the Laguna Beach alum, 37, tells Bustle.

“There was a period of my life where I would not go near a carb. I was even afraid of carrots for a while because I was doing keto coupled with intermittent fasting, and I actually think it messed up my metabolism, and it took me a year to stabilize," she recalled. "Now this freedom with food has been really nice.”

Intermittent fasting is the popular time-restricted approach to eating, where people only eat during a pre-determined window. And keto is the low-carb, high-protein, high-fat diet that’s restrictive, but“effective.”

But now, the founder of the Uncommon James clothing line says she’s in “the best shape” of her life, saying she feels much healthier than where she was before her 2020 divorce from Jay Cutler (with whom she shares sons Camden Jack, 11, Jaxon Wyatt, 10, and daughter Saylor James, 8).

“I was very thin,” she shared on a June episode of her podcast, Let's Be Honest . “I’ll put it in perspective for you guys. I’m 5-ft.-3-in. I currently -

weigh 114 lbs. Filming the E! reality show Very Cavallari, I got down to 102, and I was eating the same amount of food that I’m eating now.”

“The difference was I was so unhappy and so stressed out,” she said on the podcast.

“I look back at photos from that time period and I am like, ‘Holy s---.’ I was rail f---ing thin. I was skin and bones. I looked like s---. And you guys, that was just stress," she said. "That was being in a really unhappy marriage, quite honestly. Literally, I was so unhappy, and I had way too much on my plate.”

These days, she told Bustle, she's narrowed her focus to what really matters.

“My life is centered around my kids. I don’t have any help with my kids. I don’t even have an assistant right now, and so I just don’t have time for anything else,” she told the outlet. “All I want to do is make the money from my podcast and Uncommon James and do what I need to do for those.”
