Keri Russell knows how to keep it classically glam.

The actress hit the red carpet at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, April 27, in a gorgeous and understated look perfect for the occasion.

The Diplomat star, 48, wore a black strapless floor-length gown with a matching scarf detail around her neck. The actress, also known for her iconic '90s curls, styled her hair in a classic bun and accessorized the outfit with a striking statement ring.

She posed for photos both solo and with her Diplomat costar Rufus Sewell, who wore a dapper all-black tux with a velvet jacket.

The White House Correspondents' Dinner is the most important event of the year for the White House Correspondents' Association. Typically attended by the president and the first lady, the dinner often takes the form of a roast of the current administration. This year, Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost will host the dinner.

Russell stars in Netflix's The Diplomat alongside Rufus Sewell. The pair play husband-and -

-wife American diplomats in London, following along as they attempt to prevent another world war from breaking out.

Russell was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her role as U.S. ambassador to the U.K. Kate Wyler on season 1 of the show. After being released on April 20, 2023, the show was renewed no less than 10 days later for its second season.

Production for season 2 of The Diplomat was delayed by the writers' and actors' strikes last year but was able to resume in December 2023. Netflix has not yet set a release date for the show's second season.

Russell is no stranger to high-stakes political roles. From 2013 to 2018, the actress starred in FX's The Americans as an undercover KGB spy alongside her partner, Matthew Rhys.

Set during the Cold War in the wake of Ronald Regan's inauguration, the show follows Elizabeth (Russell) and Phillip Jennings (Rhys) as they carry out their secret mission on the ground in the U.S. and attempt to keep their identities hidden from their American-born children.
