Karol G to Be Honored with 2024 Woman of the Year Award at Annual Billboard Women in Music Event

Fresh off winning her first Grammy, Karol G will be honored with another massive award.

The Colombian singer-songwriter will receive the 2024 woman of the year award at this year's Billboard Women in Music Awards at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles on March 6.

Karol G, 32, catapulted to stateside superstardom last year with her fourth album Mañana Será Bonito, which became her first project to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Following its release, she supported the record with a sold-out North American stadium tour, which made her the highest-grossing Latin touring artist of 2023.

"With her immense talent, Karol G has created a movement for women across the globe due to her empowering lyrics and shameless confidence," said Billboard editorial director Hannah Karp in a statement.

"The release of her groundbreaking album Mañana Será Bonito has proven her a force to be reckoned with in both the English and Spanish charts," added Karp. "We are so excited to honor her as Woman of the Year."

Additional honorees at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards, hosted by actressTracee Ellis Ross, include Kylie Minogue,Maren Morris,Ice Spice,Charli XCX, Young Miko,Victoria Monét,NewJeans,TEMSand Luísa Sonza.

Minogue, 55, will receive the coveted icon award. Last year, the Australian superstar released her 16th studio albumTensionto acclaim and sparked a global hit with the lead single “Padam Padam,” which earned the Grammy Award for best pop/dance recording earlier this month.

Morris, 33, will be celebrated with the visionary award.The Grammy winner has remained committed tospeaking out against injusticesthroughout her career, which in part inspired her tostep away from the country music businessand release her EPThe Bridgeon Columbia Records instead of Columbia Nashville last year.

Ice Spice, 24, a breakout star of 2023, is being honored with the hitmaker award.Last year alone, the rapper earned five top-10 hits on theBillboard Hot 100, including her collaboration withTaylor Swi -

fton the “Karma” remix and team-ups withNicki Minajlike “Barbie World” and “Princess Diana.”

The powerhouse award will go to British pop star Charli XCX, 31, in honor of her innovations in the pop genre and recent contribution to theBarbiesoundtrack.For the first time in nearly a decade, the star returned to the BillboardHot 100in 2023 with “Speed Drive,” her infectious single from the blockbuster film.

Puerto Rican artist Young Miko, 25, who teamed up withBad BunnyandKarol Gon features last year and broke out with “Classy 101,” will receive the impact award.

Monét, 34, will be honored with the rising star award. Following years of writing hits for artists including Ariana Grande and Fifth Harmony, her debut studio albumJaguar IIand its hit single “On My Mama” led to her mainstream breakthrough in 2023. At the 2024Grammy Awards, she won best new artist, best R&B album and best engineered album, non-classical.

TheBillboardWomen in Music honor for the group of the year will go to K-pop icons NewJeans. The five-piece group’s sophomore EPGet Updebuted at No. 1 on theBillboard200chart in 2023, and the ‘90s and ‘00s-inspired singers have increasingly become mainstays in pop and the fashion world.

Nigerian singer/songwriter/producer TEMS, 28, is up for the breakthrough award. The honor comes shortly after the musician has started releasing her first solo singles in years, following the success of collaborations with A-listers likeBeyoncé,Drake,Rihannaand others.

The 2024 event will see Sonza, 25, receive the global force award. The Brazilian singer’s third studio album Escândalo Íntimo arrived in August.

Charli, Monét, Morris, Sonza, NewJeans, TEMS and Young Miko will perform at the event, while presenters will be announced at a later date.
