You can call it faith, you can call it angels, you can call it whatever you want. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Christopher Lloyd are calling it a comeback.

In honor of the 30th anniversary of baseball movie Angels in the Outfield, Disney has announced its arrival on streaming platform Disney+. “I can't believe it's been 30 years since Angels in the Outfield has been out there,” says Lloyd, 85, in a video posted to Instagram.

Interspersed with fun footage of the 1994 film, the bespectacled actor, who played Al "The Boss" Angel in the film, can be seen recording his message to fans. “You can see it now on Disney+,” he concludes enthusiastically.

“This movie is very dear to me,” says Gordon-Levitt, 43, in a selfie video message of his own. The then-child actor played Roger Bomman, a fan of the fictional California Angels baseball team (based on the real-life Los Angeles Angels). The character becomes a good luck charm for the struggling team when he starts to see Al and his angelic friends helping them on the pitch.

With a grin, Gordon-Levitt adds in the video, “I had so much fun making it back when -

I was 12 years old. I hope you like it. Have fun!”

Angels in the Outfield became a hit upon its July 15, 1994 release, and inspired two made-for-TV sequels, Angels in the Endzone and Angels in the Infield. The original starred Milton Davis Jr., Danny Glover, Tony Danza, Adrien Brody, Matthew McConaughey and more.

Gordon-Levitt had only a handful of credits under his belt, including 1992’s A River Runs Through It and 1994’s Holy Matrimony, when he took on the now-iconic role. For Lloyd, Angels in the Outfield was the latest in a long line of hits that made him a beloved character actor, from the Back to the Future series to the Addams Family films. For McConaughey, now 54, the film was his follow-up to 1993 debut Dazed and Confused

Angels in the Outfield is now streaming on Disney+.
