Even Jennifer Lopez breaks out the comfortable shoes from time to time.

The This Is Me… Now star, 54, left the heels at home and laced up some chunky white sneakers on April 1. She stepped out in a cropped green rain jacket, a black turtleneck, a $38 pair of leggings from GymShark, and the lug-soled shoes. Hours later, she traded in her top and bottoms for a matching sweatsuit, but kept on the same kicks, for some casual house shopping in New York City.

Then, the very next day, she was spotted in a gloriously oversized fur coat, a gray turtleneck, and what appeared to be the same sneakers for the third time in two days. So, wearing chunky sneakers is clearly not on the chopping block for Jenny from the Block — and we’re totally digging it.

Along with J.Lo, Jennifer Aniston is also proof that chunky shoes are really ramping up: She opted for a $99 pair of New Balance sneakers that had thick treads and a chunkier form just a few weeks ago. And just by the look of them, chunky sneakers look bouncy and cushy and seem to have more support than thin, flat pairs. And the unfussy style really coordinates well with loungewear, comfy clothes, and everyday affairs.

SeaVees is an affordable brand and backed by Gwyneth Paltrow, to boot. The Shakespeare in Love actress is “obsessed” -

with the brand’s high-top sneakers (which also have lug soles), while this cotton canvas-constructed pair shows off the ankles like J.Lo’s. They’ll also have that bounce since there’s memory foam for optimum support, and they’ll steady you with the help of the zig-zag grips on the bottom of the shoes.

On days with drizzles on the forecast, don’t automatically reach for the rubber boots. These brown, beige, and white shoes from Blondo should be safe to wear in wet weather, and one shopper even did so in “cold rain.” They also have a built-in heel that’s sloped, very much like Aniston’s, and the lugs are still a focal point for the eyes, but they’re just less sizable.

Another pair that doesn’t cost a huge chunk of change? The Skechers Roadies-True Roots Sneakers, which start at $45 on Amazon. They might prompt you to think of Converse kicks —which Joanna Gaines wears — just on a chunkier scale with their big-grooved bottoms. They also have a roomy toe box, and according to one shopper, “They’re more comfortable to me than all my SAS and Hokas.”

Style maven Jennifer Lopez has us zeroing in on chunky sneakers this spring. So, keep scrolling to shop more pairs for as little as $22.
