Jelly Roll and Dunkin' —need we say more?

The Grammy-nominated musician, who was born Jason Bradley DeFord, partnered up with the donut chain in honor of National Donut Day on Friday, June 7. The collaboration couldn't be more organic considering Jelly got his stage name thanks to his love for donuts.

"Everybody always asks me how I got the name Jelly Roll. Believe it or not, truth is, it's 'cause of these little guys right here," he says while opening up a Dunkin' box in a promotional video.

"Y'all know growing up donuts were truly my kryptonite," he adds. "My mama used to tell me all the time that I was so sweet, I could open up my own Dunkin'."

The country singer then demonstrates his favorite "dunking styles" — one named after his wife Bunnie XO and another in a "nod to my Nashville roots," he says. Jelly's dog Bussie even mak -

National Donut Day at Dunkin' means one free donut for all customers who make a beverage purchase on Friday. It also means fresh merchandise.

The company will drop four new items on shopdunkin.com starting at 12 p.m. on Thursday, June 6. There's a "jelly" hoodie (naturally), a "grab me a glazed" hoodie first seen in Ben Affleck's commercial, and two concert-style donut T-shirts.

Jelly previously told PEOPLE that he often gets gifted actual jelly roll cakes, which are sponge cakes rolled with sweet filling. And he enjoys eating them, even if they're not the true inspiration behind his name.

"Here's a funny thing. I didn't realize that jelly rolls were cakes," he said in April. "I got named Jelly Roll after a jelly donut. My mother didn't know there was a different pastry called a jelly roll."
