Alex Dupré is all in for the One Tree Hill reboot.

Jana Kramer, who joined the WB series in season 7 as Alex, revealed she has "talked to Sophia Bush about" the upcoming reboot, which Bush, 42, and Hilarie Burton Morgan teased in August.

"They're gonna get their footing of the show but I think they're open to bringing back characters," Kramer, 40, told E! News. "So, I hope I get the opportunity, it sounds like there's a window for that. I'm ready if it comes calling."

Kramer told the outlet that she loves "watching rebooted shows and then seeing old characters come back" as she reflected on what she thinks her character would be doing now, 12 years after fans last saw her.

"I feel like there's so much of Alex that's a piece of me," she said. "Though I didn't go through some of the things she went through, I've had harder times, too. So, I want to believe that she's done some healing work but she's still who she is, she still causes a little bit of a stir."

Kramer previously teased her potential involvement in the reboot series — which PEOPLE confirmed is in the early stages of development at Netflix — in September. On her Whine Down podcast, she said that both Bush and Burton, 42, will be reprising their roles as Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, respectively.

"I think their characters are coming b -

ack as moms," she revealed.

She also said that she'd already "spoken to Hilarie about it, about Alex making an appearance" in the reboot. "We had discussed it before the news broke... It was probably a month or so ago," she said.

"I think their intention is to bring back people that make sense. And Hilarie was like, 'I never got to meet Alex, so it'd be fun to have us meet.' And I'm like, 'I would love that. Sign me up,' " Kramer added, referring to Burton and Chad Michael Murray's exits from the show after season 6.

Though the reboot is still in very early stages, Burton, 42, told PEOPLE that "being able to work with a team of women and look at these stories and these characters through a female lens is something that — whether I was doing a reboot or a brand new show or a different movie at this phase in my life, female teamwork is something that is so vital to me."

"It is the core of anything I've done that's successful," she continued. "So, I'm excited to be able to team up with people that I look up to, people that I love dearly."
