The 2024 Home Run Derby kicked off with a performance from Ingrid Andress that arguably got more attention than the actual event.

The country music star and four-time Grammy-nominated singer's performance of the National Anthem live at Texas' Globe Life Field on Monday, July 15, quickly sparked a stir on social media moments after it was over — and baseball fans are still not done talking.

Many users on X, formerly Twitter, compared the performance to Fergie's equally talked-about rendition of the song at the 2018 NBA All-Stargame.

"Fergie watching Ingrid Andress claim her crown for worst national anthem of all time," one user wrote.

Others even compared it to Saturday Night Live's beloved 2006 skit, "National Anthem," in which Maya Rudolph, who played contest winner Pamela Bell, sang the tune.

Another fan wrote next to a picture of the performance, "Ingrid Andress has been placed on the 60 day IL with a torn esophagus."

Andress' highly talked about performance comes on the same day that she announced a new single.

Earlier in the day, the musician, 32, shared a passionate social media message to her fans.

"Greetings to everyone that has a pulse," she wrote. "I truly love you all so much. I’ve been absent for a minute, but I’m so stoked to announce that my new single “Colorado 9” comes out on July 24th, pre-save it now (link in bio)."
