Shawn Levy confesses to PEOPLE that there's one football game he'll never forget!

The Deadpool & Wolverine director, who turns 56 on Tuesday, July 23, recalls exclusively to PEOPLE about the time he watched the Kansas City Chiefs play the New York Jets with Taylor Swift and the stars of his latest movie, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

“I’ll tell you this, watching a football game with Taylor is different than just watching a football game,” he tells PEOPLE at the NYC premiere of the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film on Monday, July 22.

“Yeah, the uptick in recognizability that came about at that football game... I was not counting on that,” he admits. “Was not counting on it at all.”

“I’m definitely going to forget a lot of football games that I’ve watched in my life, not that one,” the Night at the Museum director concludes of the Oct. 1, 2023 game.

Levy’s remarks come nearly 10 months after he saw the Chiefs defeat the Jets 23-20. At the time, the director joked on his Instagram Stories that “all future Sunday nights are ruined.”

“Apparently there was also a football game played last night,” Levy added, alongside a snap of Swift, 34, Reynolds, Jackman and Blake Lively, 36.

He also added a photo of himself smiling with Reynolds, 47, and Jackman, 55, at the game — and credited the snap to Swift.

“If only my co-workers and I liked each ot -

her more. Photo Cred @taylorswift," he joked in the caption.

Levy previously noted that one of the bonuses of his “bromance” with Reynolds is hanging with the actor's friend, Swift.

After the Deadpool & Wolverine trio attended the game, Levy spoke to PEOPLE later that month about the singer, noting, "She's a very fun hang."

Levy also chatted with PEOPLE about his friendship with Jackman and Reynolds.

"It's all thanks to Hugh," Levy said, noting that he first met Jackman after directing him in the film Real Steel in 2011. "He predicted this 11 years ago. I vividly remember him saying, 'I'm friends with this guy Ryan Reynolds, and if you ever meet, you guys are going to never stop working together again.' "

"I haven't made a truly close friend since college," Levy said of his Free Guy and The Adam Project collaborator.

"Men don't tend to make a lot of friends. But Hugh and Ryan happen to be the two guys that I talk about real life s--- with. We get together as husbands and guys and dads. And now we get to work together, which has been an absolute blast."
