Country singer Mark Chesnutt is returning to the stage later this year after undergoing emergency heart surgery last month.

On Tuesday, July 16, the "Too Cold at Home" hitmaker, 60, confirmed he'll be getting back on stage on Oct. 9 to perform at the Songs and Stories Of Dean Dillon gig honoring the Country Music Hall of Fame and Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame member.

Chesnutt shared an image on Instagram promoting the event, which will take place at the Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama, alongside a link to where fans can purchase tickets.

A representative for Chesnutt did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Exactly a month ago, on June 16, the "Brother Jukebox" singer was hospitalized before having emergency quadruple bypass surgery, a post shared by his team on Instagram on June 18 confirmed.

"Mark Chesnutt, one of the most signatured country music voices of the 90s and a honky tonk mainstay for more than three decades, experienced a heart health issue over the weekend that hospitalized him Sunday evening, June 16; Mark underwent emergency quadruple bypass surgery," the caption, shared alongside a photo of the musician pointing at the camera, read.

"The recuperation time will make it necessary to cancel show dates. Please respect the privacy of the family during this difficult time of recovery," the message added at the time.

“I send my love and gratitude to my family and friends, the band and fans for your understanding, prayers and support, and look forward to seeing you all again soon at a honky tonk near you,” he shared.

Chesnutt — who had a string of hits in the '90s — posted a recovery update on Instagram on June 25 alongside a clip of him playing guitar on stage while his track "Rollin' with the Flow" played in the background.

"Well folks, doc says I got a new heart! I’m recovering comfortably at home with my family. Today we sat on the porch just soaking in the sun and that beautiful Texas weather. But I can’t wait to get back to pickin’ and singin’ with all my favorite fans!" the country crooner captioned the post. 

"Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. They have helped and meant the world to me in my time of need. I appreciate you all so very much. See yuh soon!" he added.

Chesnutt's latest posts come after he revealed in an Instagram message on Nov. 14, 2023 that he'd been dealing with "extreme health issues," telling fans he'd be taking some time off to work on his health and would be back on the road in February 2024.
