Simone Biles has a wedding ring fit for a gold medalist.

After dating for two years, the Olympic gymnast got engaged to NFL athlete Jonathan Owens on Valentine’s Day in 2022. Owens popped the question to Biles with an oval-shaped sparkler designed by Houston-based jeweler ZoFrost.

In April 2023, the pair tied the knot for the first time in a courthouse ceremony. The low-key affair was a necessary legal step before they hosted a larger destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on May 6, 2023. For their second nuptials, Biles and Owens exchanged matching diamond wedding bands. The lavish celebration also included custom sneakers, a live firework show and a water drum performance.

Speaking with Vanity Fair in January 2024, Biles opened up about how winning several gold medals paled in comparison to tying the knot with Owens.

“I’ve never had so much fun in my life. I was 19 when I won my first Olympics, and I was like, 'How am I supposed to top this?' My wedding topped it,” she said. "It was the greatest feeling ever."

Simone’s custom engagement ring certainly doesn’t lack any sparkle. It features a 3-carat oval-cut diamond set on a diamond pavé band.

The stunning sparkler was designed by Houston-based jeweler ZoFrost, who has worked with several other stars like Drake and Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby.

Speaking with Page Six in February 2022, ZoFrost revealed that he and Owens worked closely to create a “special” engagement ring for Biles.

“Jonathan has been a client and friend for a few years and I had the pleasure of helping him to create this very special ring,” he said. “He and I started the process together a few months ago to select the perfect diamond for Simone that was handpicked by Jonathan.”

After settling on an oval-cut diamond, Owens requested -

a specific design detail. “He wanted to add a special touch to the ring by adding a halo around the oval diamond,” ZoFrost told Page Six.

Biles completed her wedding ring set with a diamond-encrusted band, also designed by ZoFrost. The band matches Owens' wedding ring, which is a larger version of his wife’s and was also designed by the Houston-based jeweler.

A few months after the couple tied the knot, Biles shared a closer look at their matching bands after returning home from the U.S. Gymnastics Championships. She posted a photo of their hands side by side with the caption, “back together again????????.”

Though Biles and Owens exchanged diamond wedding bands at their Cabo San Lucas wedding, they opted for much simpler jewelry for their courthouse ceremony. Owens shared a photo from the day on Instagram, which showed Biles wearing a thin eternity band while the football player donned a plain silver wedding band.

Biles later revealed on Instagram that their initial wedding bands, along with her shoes and bouquet, were bought on Amazon the same week of their courthouse wedding.

When it comes to training, Biles has revealed that she swaps her engagement ring and wedding band for a more durable accessory. Just one month after getting engaged, the gymnast shared a photo of a white silicon band with a single diamond on her left ring finger on her Instagram Stories and wrote, "Okay HOW CUTE. So I can work out & not damage my engagement ring."

Days after announcing their engagement in February 2022, Biles and Owens made an appearance on the Today show. The Olympic gymnast told host Carson Daly that her new bling is the most treasured item she owns.

"It's definitely my most prized possession now and I'm always wearing it. ... It definitely beats a gold medal," she said.
