Josh Richards and his girlfriend, Gabi Moura, are more than BFFs.
The Canadian TikTok star started dating Gabriela “Gabi” Moura in 2023 after connecting with her on social media two years prior. At the time, Richards was fresh off his time with content creation collective The Sway House, which he was a part of alongside fellow creators Griffin Johnson, Bryce Hall, Jaden Hossler, Noah Beck, Blake Gray, Anthony Reeves, Kio Cyr and Quinton Griggs.
After he left the group in June 2020, Richards joined the BFFs podcast alongside Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and fellow TikToker Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, where he frequently opens up about his romance with Moura. He recounted the beginning of their relationship in a September 2023 clip from the podcast where Richards admitted he “saw her on Instagram or TikTok” and said he wanted to “wife this girl up.”
“It took a while until she came to L.A. because she lived in Brazil,” he said. “I invited her to my birthday party, so that’s when we first met, and the rest is history.”
Fans had suspected the two were dating when they began posting together on TikTok in mid-2023. During a January 2024 episode of the Bottoms Up With Fannita podcast, Richards confirmed he and Moura had been dating since the summer.
“It’s been seven months,” he said. “Our first date was Dave & Buster’s ... I feel like it’s the best place to go and get to know somebody.”
So who is Josh Richard's girlfriend? Here's everything to know about Gabi Moura and her relationship with the podcast host.
Richards isn’t the only social media influencer in the relationship. Moura has over 11 million followers on TikTok, where she posts dance trends, cooking videos and content with Richards. Moura primarily grew her following for her lip-sync, dance-style content on the platform.
Aside from TikTok, the creator has over 2 million Instagram followers.
Moura is originally from Rio de Janeiro. When she was 17 years old, Moura decided to drop out of college, where she was studying marketing, to move to Los Angeles and pursue a career in social media.
Despite her mom’s hesitancy, Moura’s mother “always loved” her social media presence and knew she would always “support me in everything I do," the content creator shared in a July 2024 episode of the Dropouts Podcast. Nonetheless, “she was a little bit worried” t -
hat Moura wanted to leave school.
“I was in college in Brazil, so I wanted to come to L.A. because I was not happy with the college,” Moura said. “She got a little bit worried of me just dropping college and not wanting to study.”
While she had doubts, Moura explained she wanted to try her hand at social media and promised her that “if it doesn’t work, I’ll come back.” However, the Brazilian creator said she doesn't think she'll be returning any time soon. “I took a gap year, and now I’m here ... and I don’t really want to go back,” Moura added.
While Richards initially messaged Moura on social media in 2021, they didn’t come face-to-face until January 2023. During a September 2023 Amazon Live, Moura joked that her partner was “always a fan” of hers before they met in person, which happened when Richards invited her to his 21st birthday party.
“Josh said, ‘Oh, I’m gonna throw my birthday party, you wanna come?’ ” she recalled. “I said, ‘Yeah, sure,’ so I brought like three friends with me and I went to the party. It was a really great party.”
A few months later, the couple began frequently posting together on TikTok.
While Moura sorted out her living arrangements in the U.S., she temporarily lived with Richards in L.A. In a February 2024 clip of the BFFs Pod, she explained that she moved in with her boyfriend “because I didn’t have a visa and I couldn’t get a place for myself.”
At the time, the couple confirmed that Moura was living with Richards but had recently acquired a visa and was apartment hunting. She celebrated her move to L.A. in a TikTok later that month with shots around the city, including the Hollywood sign and the Santa Monica pier. “living in my dream place,” Moura captioned the video.
Richards and Moura share details about their partnership frequently on social media, especially TikTok. From taking part in viral trends to promoting products together, they’re not shy about sharing their relationship with fans.
In August 2024, the couple traveled to Richards’ native Canada where the content creator taught his girlfriend “how to shotgun” a drink. “Well i guess not a bad first attempt beside soaking all of us ????,” he captioned a video of the moment on TikTok.
