Being a child star isn’t always easy. Thankfully for Chloe Coleman, her mom Allison Chase Coleman and dad Stephen Coleman’s experience in the TV industry has helped guide her young career.

Chloe was born to Allison and Stephen in November 2008, right after her mom stopped working on The Amazing Race — where she met Chloe’s dad. The two continued working behind the scenes while the Pain Hustlers star was growing up, racking up hundreds of credits between them and giving their young daughter a peek at what it meant to be on set from a young age.

“I’d always get to see what they were doing and get a taste of what it was like acting and see other people act,” Chloe told Ebony in 2021.

Now that Chloe has several projects under her belt — including Big Little Lies and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves — she’s a pro in the industry just like her hardworking parents.

From their careers in Hollywood to their close relationship with their daughter, here’s everything to know about Chloe Coleman’s parents, Allison Chase Coleman and Stephen Coleman.

Stephen and Allison met while working on The Amazing Race and continued to work on the show together until 2007 when she left.

They married in August 2006 and later welcomed Chloe in 2008 and Mia in 2011. Their younger daughter is also an actress who appears in shows including Criminal Minds.

Chloe takes after her mom Allison, who started her acting career at a young age in 1990 on the TV show Midnight Caller. It didn’t last long, as Allison transitioned to producing and directing roles in the late 1990s and has worked on several reality shows throughout her career.

She won three Emmy Awards for her work as a producer on The Amazing Race in 2005, 2006 and 2007 in the reality competition program category and has served as producer on shows including The Profit, Flavor of Love and Undercover Boss.

Allison also served as a producer for America’s Next Top Model, where she worked from 2004 to 2015.

Chloe’s dad Stephen has been a camera operator for more than three decades and has worked on reality shows and specials including The Amazing Race, America’s Next Top Model and Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer. The bulk of his credits come from The Amazing Race, for which he worked on 306 episodes from 2002 to 2024.

He also worked on The Late Late Show -

Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special, which earned him an Emmy nomination in 2018 in the technical direction, camerawork and video control category.

In a 2022 Facebook post, Stephen marked his 30th anniversary of moving to Los Angeles from Pennsylvania to pursue a career as a camera operator. “What an amazing adventure this has been and will continue to be!” he wrote at the time.

Chloe lovingly posts about her mom every Mother’s Day, sharing sweet words and pictures of them together throughout the year.

In a 2023 Instagram post, the My Spy star called Allison her “best friend” and an inspiration before noting how she’s “gotten to see the world with you by my side.”

She also thanked her mom in a 2024 post: “You are such a beautiful force that has guided me all through life, and I've enjoyed every moment with you.”

Chloe paid tribute to her paternal grandfather, Rodney A. Coleman, with a video showing how the late veteran was honored at a memorial at Fort Myers in Arlington, Va. The Instagram post included videos and pictures of Stephen with his late dad and the family.

In the post's lengthy caption, Chloe wrote that Rodney was a decorated veteran who served in the Air Force and did multiple tours of duty in Vietnam. After the war, then-President Bill Clinton appointed Rodney to a four-year tenure as Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, and he later was part of the White House Fellows where he “served on many boards and advisory committees including museums, hospitals and the Tuskegee Airmen, of which he was most proud.”

“We miss you Pop-pop, and I hope you rest well,” the actress concluded the post.

In 2019, Chloe shared how she explored her Czech ancestry on her mom’s side after a trip to Prague to meet distant relatives.

The actress explained in an Instagram post that her great-great-grandparents immigrated to America from then-Czechoslovakia in the early 1900s, leaving family behind. Thanks to some letters written to Chloe’s mom, the family was able to “meaningfully reconnect” in Prague and Germany and form lasting bonds.

“My deepest joy this summer was to meet our family for the first time,” Chloe wrote alongside a series of pictures showing the family reunion. “I’m always grateful to my ancestors, feeling like they guide me in life. They all definitely made this happen!”
