Amon-Ra St. Brown, wide receiver for the Detroit Lions and a star of Netflix's Receiver, balances the rigorous demands of the sport alongside his girlfriend, Brooklyn Adams.

Throughout the show, viewers see how the high school sweethearts support each other as they navigate milestones in their careers. Despite the demands of his athleticism and her rigorous nursing school schedule, the couple have maintained a strong relationship through long-distance dating.

Receiver, an eight-episode miniseries that dropped in July 2024, follows five NFL stars as they work through the 2023 season — facing injuries, wins, personal relationships and challenges. A major focal point of the show are the athletes’ partnerships and family bonds that are of utmost importance to the football players’ lives outside of the sport.

St. Brown and Adams are among the couples who demonstrate tremendous effort in making their relationship work despite difficult schedules, health-related challenges and distance.

So who is Amon-Ra St. Brown's girlfriend? Here’s everything to know about Brooklyn Adams and her relationship with the professional football player.

St. Brown and Adams’ relationship dates back to their teens: The pair met during their sophomore year of high school, and things progressed when they were paired together for an assignment in English class, St. Brown said on the show.

“We had a project and started talking then, by the end of my sophomore year, we started dating, and we’ve been together ever since,” he said.

While St. Brown excels on the football field, Adams is dedicated to her own career aspirations.

She is currently finishing up nursing school in Orange County, Calif., a path she always intended to take, saying on the show that it is something she “knew” she wanted to do.

As St. Brown and Adams discuss on the show, long distance wasn’t always part of their plan. While exciting, the timing of their respective career milestones presented a logistical conundrum.

“I got into nursing school and not too long after the draft happened,” Adams said in the se -

Still, the pair have made it work, enjoying their time together and often meeting on weekends because of Adams’ nursing school schedule, St. Brown mentions in Receiver.

“She tries to come to as many games as she can,” the football player said on the show as he was driving to pick her up from the airport.

Adams met St. Brown’s parents, mom Miriam and dad John, when she was 16.

On Receiver, John reflected on how protective he was of his youngest son, wanting him to stay focused on his NFL dreams and avoid distractions. However, as St. Brown and Adams continued to date, John noticed Adams’ support and his mindset changed.

“I found out she was a really special girl,” he said in an interview on the show. “You’re my daughter now,” he tells Adams in the following scene.

The two have “come a long way,” Adams told cameras, adding that she’s grown accustomed to his candid nature. "He has no filter," she quipped.

Off-camera, the aspiring nurse also spends time with St. Brown's mother and brothers. Last summer, Adams was by St. Brown's side during a family get-together where they enjoyed food and music.

Throughout the series, several challenges St. Brown faced during the 2023 season are highlighted, including a severe oblique injury and a bout with a painful skin rash. With each obstacle, Adams was present in his struggle and recovery, supporting him every step of the way.

When St. Brown had a case of hand, foot and mouth disease, Adams recalls the pain she felt for him. “I want to cry, I felt so bad,” she said of the incident on the show.

Adams was also captured attending St. Brown’s games — cheering from the stands or sidelines, looking visibly concerned when the outcome was uncertain and sitting beside his parents as they rallied for him.

Another touching moment was when St. Brown dyed his hair blue for the playoffs — a two-part process that Adams was involved in — and she gave her approval, playfully saying, “We’re blue.”
