Aaron Taylor-Johnson is finding new ways to evade questions regarding those James Bond casting rumors.

At the New York City premiere of his superhero movie Kraven the Hunter on Tuesday, Dec. 10, Taylor-Johnson, 34, laughed when Entertainment Tonight asked about his reaction to fans who want him to suit up as the 007 spy.

"I would say come see Kraven because that's what out this weekend and it's not going to disappoint," the actor said. "I promise you that, guys."

Taylor-Johnson has gained significant practice dodging questions about the iconic British spy film series in recent years. Daniel Craig exited the franchise following 2021's No Time to Die, and while the film's producers have remained coy about how close they are to announcing a new actor, U.K. newspaperThe Sun reported that Taylor-Johnson had secured the role "should he wish to accept it."

When Taylor-Johnson was asked about those rumors by Rolling StoneUK in an interview published just days later, the actor said, "I can only really talk about the things I’m going to show and tell. "So, The Fall Guy, Nosferatu, Kraven the Hunter. I’m here to promot -

e those.” Those comments echoed what Taylor-Johnson told Esquire in an August 2023, when he noted that Kraven the Hunter "is what’s in front of me" when asked about Bond. “It’s not really for me to say anything," he added elsewhere in that interview.

The producers behind the James Bond movies, siblings Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, most recently shared something of an update on casting a new actor to portray 007 when they spoke with the Associated Press in November and called it "a big decision."

In that article, the AP noted that Broccoli and Wilson said the next Bond will be a man who is likely in his 30s. As the outlet reported, casting a white actor in the role is not a given. “Every time we cast a new actor, the films change. It’s the excitement of a new Bond, a new direction,” Wilson told the AP. “Every one of these people who took on the role offered something new and different.”

Kraven the Hunter is in theaters Friday, Dec. 13.
