A missing pregnant teenager has been found dead in South Carolina, according to reports.

The body of 17-year-old Maylashia Hogg, who was nine months pregnant, was discovered in Barnwell County, S.C., at about 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, police confirmed, per WACH Fox 57,News 12andWSBTV Atlanta 2.

The Barnwell High School student was found less than a half-mile from where she lived, according to family, per the outlets. Hogg was due to give birth to a baby girl on Feb. 14.

The teenager was excited to become a mother and she had already named her daughter London Charity after her late mother, who died a year-and-a-half ago, according to her family, per the outlets.

"Whoever did it needs to be in jail," the victim’s cousin, Robert Payne, told WACH Fox 57. "She was only a child. A child with a child.”

“I know somebody did something to her,” he added.

Hogg was reported missing by her aunt on Feb. 8, WACH Fox 57 reported. After receiving no resp -

onse from police, the family contacted investigative researcher Kimberly Kite with theBroken Link Foundation, a charity that helps find missing people, for help.

When Hogg missed her induction appointment booked for Feb, 13, the family grew more concerned.

“When a family reports a loved one missing. Police have got to listen to the family,” Kite told WACH Fox 57.

Hogg planned to return to school after having her baby and study to become a nurse, her aunt said, per News 12.

A memorial was held for Hogg and her unborn daughter on Monday at the location where she was found. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

No suspects have been identified, reported WACH Fox 57, News 12 and WSBTV Atlanta 2.

PEOPLE's request to the Barnwell Police Department for comment was not immediately returned.
