Debbi Morgan is happy to see Meagan Good happy.

Speaking with PEOPLE at the New York City premiere of their new movie, Tyler Perry's Divorce in the Black, on Monday, July 8, Morgan, 72, said, "I don't know much about Meagan's relationship with Jonathan Majors. It's just every time I see her, she has a big smile on her face, so it must mean something."

And while they were filming the Tyler Perry project, Morgan said Majors, 34, "came to set with Meagan one day and she introduced us and I told him I was a big fan of his work."

"And I looked at him and I looked at her and I thought, 'I bet this is going to work,' " the Eve's Bayou actress continued, adding of Good, 42, "She deserves it."

Good and Majors werefirst linkedafter they were spotted on a movie date together. Reports of their relationship came two months after theCreed IIIactor wascharged with physically assaulting a womanwhile riding in a New York taxi cab in March 2023.

In December 2023, Majors wasfound guilty of misdemeanor assaultin the third degree, recklessly causing physical injury andharassment in the second degree, which is a violation. He was latersentencedto participate in a one-year domestic-violence-treatment program.

In a March interview with PEOPLE, Good discussed her mental health and self-care ta -

ctics during this “crazy time” and the chatter about her relationship with Majors amid his legal issues.

“I keep my eyes on God, you know, that’s the focus,” she said at the time. “And I stay true to myself and I stay authentic. I know what I know that I know. And in time, everything else just catches up with what you know, if you’re true to yourself and you’re authentic.”

“There’s some things you just gotta be like, ‘I ain’t got time for that. Let me go see what my nephew’s doing. Let me see what my mama’s doing. Let me go see what my man’s doing. Let me go get this job,’ ” Good added.

Majors and Good have moved in togetherin N.Y.C.’s Greenwich Village neighborhood and visited Majors’ mom in Texas during a cross-country trip from Los Angeles to Manhattan, a source told PEOPLE in February.

They have also made multiple red-carpet appearances together over the past few months, most recently at Monday's movie premiere and, before that, at the 4th Annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards on June 21.

“I'm in love, I’m transitioning, I’m healing, I’m growing and I’m getting excited about what's next,” Good told PEOPLE in March, nodding to her relationship with Majors. “Yeah, just a lot of things at once. But what I can say is, I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time," she added.

Tyler Perry's Divorce in the Black is available to stream starting Thursday, July 11 on Prime Video.
