There was no awkward lunch or dinner when Allison Holker introduced her three kids to her new boyfriend, Adam Edmunds.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the Rookie Kids Fashion Show on Thursday, Sept. 26, Holker, 36, revealed that her children — daughters Weslie, 16, and Zaia, 4, and son Maddox, 8 — first met the tech CEO during a day out at Universal Studios.

“It was really fun. And we just shared a lot of laughter and a lot of memories, and it was actually a really fun way to start out,” the So You Think You Can Dance judge tells PEOPLE.

“It was really cool,” adds Holker, whose late husband, Stephen 'tWitch' Boss, died in December 2022. “We were having a lot of fun together.”

And Edmunds has even received the seal of approval from Weslie, who walked in the fashion show at Nya Studios West in Los Angeles.

“I think every time I've been around him, there's never like a dull moment, because they're so fun together,” Weslie tells PEOPLE of Edmunds and her mom. “There wasn’t like a standout moment. I met him. I was like, this is a good guy. I like him, and as long as my mom's happy, obviously, I don't mind what happens.”

Holker also shared that it was her eldest daughter who encouraged her to meet someone new, and she says the teenager is “very supportive” of her new relationship.

“I'm grateful that it opened up my heart, but Weslie was actually a huge part of that for me,” Holker explains to PEOPLE. “Weslie was actually the one that said to me that I should open up my heart to someone. And that helped me a lot to feel like it was okay to be vulnerable and find love again. And so, she was a huge help to me.”

Opening up about whether she was worried about her children’s reaction to her moving on, Holker says, “For myself and for my children, I want to always protect them, first and foremost, make sure that they feel safe and , and they're my number one priority. So, anyone coming into my life needed to understand tha -

t. But yeah, Weslie was the one that inspired me to keep going along.”

“It’s new and it's exciting, but we all are trying to find this new way together,” she continues. “And so, everyone's very patient and loving and supportive during this time.”

“We get together, and we have a great time,” Weslie adds. “We all get along well. It’s very harmonious.”

Earlier this week, Holker told PEOPLE that she’d found love again with Edmunds, weeks after soft-launching their relationship and stepping out publicly together for the first time at New York Fashion Week on Sept. 7.

"It is a new experience for me to navigate this, and it took a lot of time for me to feel ready. I didn't know if I'd ever fall into this situation again," the mom of three, who will release a memoir, This Far, in Feb. 2025, said. "I will say this: I'm extremely happy. I feel supported, seen, understood and fully loved. And I'm really, really grateful for that."

Though in a good place with her new romance, Holker explained that she hopes people understand that her current relationship doesn’t lessen the love she shared with Boss, whom she was married to for nine years.

"I had such a beautiful love with Stephen, and I still have such a beautiful love with him. But the love I learned has only helped me to be even better in my next love," she said. "I feel like I'm even more suited now in this next step in my life, this next chapter with this new, beautiful man Adam. It's only made it louder and more strong for us. It's not that one love outshines the other. It's just one love prepared me for the next."
