Jade Carey is starting her morning in the Olympic Village with a smile on her face.

The gymnast gave a sleepy grin to teammate Simone Biles in a photo shared by the latter on Instagram Stories Wednesday, July 31 — the day after they secured the gold medal in the women's artistic gymnastics team final at the Paris Olympics.

In the picture, taken in the Olympic Village where the team is staying, Carey, 24, is wearing the SKIMS Olympic oversized t-shirt pajama dress and holding up her new medal. Carey stands in front of a fan in the image, and looks fresh out of bed.

"*wakes up* 'IT'S REAL,' " Biles wrote overtop the image.

Biles, 27, and Carey along with teammatesJordan Chiles,Suni Lee andHezley Rivera, snagged first place in the team final at the Bercy Arena in Paris on Tuesday with a score of 171.296. Silver medalist team Italy was nearly six points behind the U.S., with a final score of 165.494.

Carey was back in top form for the final after struggling during the qualification round due to illness. She said onInstagram after falling during her qualifying floor routine, "all heart ???? not the day i was expecting to have but i can’t thank you all enough for the love and support. i am so proud of this team and what we accomplished today. we’re not -

done yet ????."

She also told Olympics.comthat she had not been feeling well leading up to competition. "I just have not been feeling well the past few days and haven't been able to eat or anything," Carey said. "I had, like, no energy today and didn't really have a sense of what was going on in my head. So, I just kind of wanted people to know that so, they know that there's actually something wrong."

On Instagram after the team final, Carey celebrated the victory with photos from the event. "OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS ????????????????????#goldengirls????????," she wrote, also utilizing the group's team real name after they initially teased a more NSFW moniker.

Biles announced the "official team name" onX (formerly Twitter) Tuesday, July 30.

"Okay on the real though, the official team name is ✨golden girls✨ (because oldest olympic team),” she wrote.
