Neko Case is ready to tell her story.

The legendary musician, 53, is ready to reflect on her evolution from an "invisible girl raised by two dogs and a space heater in rural Washington state" to a critically acclaimed multi-hyphenate artist in her new memoir, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You.

The memoir will be "a rebellious meditation on identity and corruption and a manifesto on how to make space for ourselves in this world, despite the obstacles we face," per a press release shared with PEOPLE.

Colin Dickerman, VP and editorial director of nonfiction at GDP, shared similar sentiments in a statement, adding that the memoir is "filled with grit and transcendent beauty."

"It’s rare to be offered a glimpse into the forces that forge an artist, and The Harder I Fight The More I Love You is mesmerizing for both its candor and remarkable s -

torytelling," his statement continued.
