'I Did a Whole Movie About This!': Watch Glen Powell Deliver Today Show's Weather Report

Glen Powell confronts movie-sized tornadoes in the new blockbuster Twisters — and now, he's taking on real-life weather too!

As Powell, 35, appeared on the Today show in New York City on Wednesday, July 17 to promote the movie, Today cohost Dylan Dreyer encouraged the actor to help her complete the morning's weather forecast.

"So I know you became a pilot for Top Gun — did you become a meteorologist for Twisters?"Dreyer, 42, asked the actor, to which he responded, "I mean, we'll see. You'll put my knowledge to the test here, I guess."

"Yeah yeah yeah, so I think there's rain coming," Powell quickly added after noticing a few raindrops in the air. "I think that's what that means."

"Please tell me there's no twisters coming," Dreyer said, to which Powell quipped, "If there are, I know what to do, guys. I did a whole movie about this!"

Dreyer then ran Powell through the national weather radar, with added captions across regions of states on the map to assist Powell with the forecast. "Seems like nothing dramatic happening in Arkansas. Seems like we're going to get some hot weather here in New York," he said, Cold front is — wait, the cold front is coming down," -

he said.

"Look at you — see, you did learn a thing or two," Dreyer said.

Powell takes on an extreme weather-related role in Twisters, in which he plays a storm chaser with a viral internet following named Tyler Ownes, who teams up with Daisy Edgar-Jones' meteorologist character Kate to test their abilities as a significant storm system breaks out in Oklahoma. The movie also stars Anthony Ramos, Maura Tierney, David Corenswet, Brandon Perea, Sasha Lane, Daryl McCormack, Kiernan Shipka and Nik Dodani.

Powell's stop on the Today show also included a cameo appearance from his parents, Cyndy Powell and Glen Powell Sr., who were seen holding signs in support of their son on the show's set. "Yeah, I recognize both of these jokers," Glen said after he and Dreyer found his parents — who tend to accompany their movie star son to his promotional appearances — holding signs that read, "I changed Glen Powell's diapers," and "Glen Powell is our force of nature."

Twisters is in theaters Friday, July 19.
