Scarlett Johansson has some questions regarding her husband Colin Jost's upcoming trip to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"Is that even - how did he get this gig? I just want to know," Johansson, 39, said during her Monday, July 8 appearance on the Today show to promote her new movie with Channing Tatum, Fly Me to the Moon. Johansson inquired about Jost, 42, secured the new gig after host Savannah Guthrie mentioned the Saturday Night Live comedian is helping NBC Sports cover Olympic surfing competitions from the island of Tahiti, in the South Pacific Ocean.

"It's even worse of a boondoggle than Paris, which we're already getting away with - he's going to Tahiti to cover surfing. What?" Guthrie, 52, said.

"I'm like, 'Is this a job? How is this?' When they announced the Paris Olympics, he immediately found out that they were doing the surf competition in Tahiti, which is so cool," Johansson, who has been married to Jost since 2020, said of her husband, "He loves to surf, we have a place in Montauk, he's always out there surfing."

"Somehow the dream became a reality and now he's going to be in Tahiti for two weeks. I'm like 'poor you,' " she added, mimicking a tear rolling down her face.

NBC announced Jost's participation in its surfing coverage on June 26; the sport will make its second appearance ever at the Olympi -

cs after it debuted when Tokyo hosted the Summer Olympics in 2011, as the outlet said at the time. Surfing events are scheduled to run between July 27 and July 31 in Teahupo'o, Tahiti, according to the Olympics' website.

"He's working - he's like, 'Poor me, I'm going to be all over the place.' I'm like, 'Are you?' I think if you can have a Pina colada on air while you're working, that's not technically work," Johansson joked of Jost's upcoming reporting job during her Today show interview.

Johansson and Jost have known each other since they first met during one of Johansson's Saturday Night Live hosting stints in 2006. The pair tied the knot in 2020 and welcomed their first child, Cosmo, in August 2021; Johansson also shares her older daughter Rose Dorothy, 9, with her ex-husband Romain Dauriac.

Jost previously highlighted his interest in surfing in his 2020 memoir A Very Punchable Face, in which he recounted that Jimmy Buffett once saved him from drowning while surfing in St. Bart’s in 2014.

Johansson's latest movie, the 1960s-set romantic comedy Fly Me to the Moon, is in theaters July 12.
